The Israel Prayer Garden at Global Spheres Center in Corinth, Texas, is the centerpiece garden planted and maintained by Glory of Zion International Ministries. This two-acre garden is an expression of our identification with the nation of Israel and all that it means to the Body of Christ. Our hope is that those who visit can understand the concept of One New Man: Jew and Gentile joined in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For this reason, we designed this Garden to represent ancient Israel. The two-acre, fenced Garden is divided into twelve areas, one for each of the twelve tribes of Israel. Permanent structures with symbolic significance to each tribe are located throughout the garden. In addition, plants from the “Seven Species of Israel” can be found in the garden.
Frequently Asked Questions
Jesus Christ was a Jew, as were all of the first Christians. Furthermore, the foundations of our faith were laid down in the Old Testament. We choose to acknowledge and honor those teachings because we believe that God had a divine purpose for the laws, feasts, and truths established through ancient Israel. The nation and people of Israel still matter to the Church.
Other than the Seven Species of Israel, the plants in the Garden are native and adapted plants. We also selected plants that are related to those that either grows in Israel or are mentioned in the Bible. We have attempted to use plants that are drought tolerant and that represent the land and culture of Israel as much as possible.
When the calendar permits, private events can be scheduled in the Garden. The two buildings adjacent to the Israel Prayer Garden, Solomon’s Porch and Beulah Acres Center, can be reserved for private meetings.
